Radio & TV Broadcasting need and attract people with very special abilities: a quick mind, enthusiasm, ambition, and the intelligence to make the right decisions under pressure realizing the responsibility as a communicator.

Broadcasters are outgoing and interested in a wide variety of subjects. They need to be well-informed, have a good personality, be alert and confident. This is because radio relies on the creativity of the announcer to develop and hold the interest of the listening audience.

It’s a demanding career, but it also offers opportunities and rewards not available in most other professions. The life of a broadcaster is stimulating and challenging. It offers creative satisfaction, prestige, and fulfils the love of performing before an audience. However it’s not all glamour. Most successful broadcasters are ambitious, hardworking people who at times need to make personal sacrifices to advance their careers. As in any other field the rewards of success are earned!

Western Academy is a broadcasting school that offers a training program for those who are dedicated to a career on the air, and are committed to the intensive training required to become a professional broadcaster. Broadcasting is rewarding to the right people!

If YOU are attracted to broadcasting, it is likely you possess many of the qualities listed above. Interestingly enough, most of our students had never set foot in a broadcasting studio before they started training, but they all shared a common enjoyment of people. After all, broadcasting is TALKING to people. Today they enjoy new careers as Radio & TV Personalities, News & Sportscasters & reporters, and Commercial Announcers.
